Material Girl: For a mere $33 you too can have supermodel hair
Recently, my hair dryer died. Now this might seem like a rather mundane thing to blog about, but oh how wrong you are! I had some ceramic hair dryer that had all but produced the most un-fantastic results on the face of the planet. It took eons to dry my hair, it most certainly did not do all the things that a ceramic hair dryer promised to do, and only hours after I purchased it I discovered the sought-after T3 hairdryer. I was instantly in lust. Unfortunately, the T3 costs a whopping $200 which is more than I’ve ever dreamed to spend on a hairdryer in my entire life.
Eventually, I cut off all my hair and no longer cared that it took an eon to dry. I still hated my hairdryer though. Well, the time did eventually come that my hairdryer went to the place where all hairdryers go when they die (the garbage can for lack of a better hairdryer heaven). I must admit, I may have helped it along by not obtaining a separate instrument for drying my dogs after their baths… but whatever.
Knowing that my hairdryer was no longer with us my interest turned instantly to the T3 again. I had been lusting after that beautiful instrument for years. But I had to remind myself that we are in a recession and that maybe it wasn’t the best thing in the world for me to spend $200 on. And besides that fact I knew that if my DH ever found out that I’d dropped that kind of cash on a hairdryer my life would be in terrible peril as far as golf clubs might be concerned.
I did the only sane thing that a woman could do… at least as sane as a woman can be without a hairdryer… I went to Amazon.com to consult with their infinite wisdom. I searched “tourmaline hairdryer” since that is the only defining factor that I could see set the T3 apart from my piece of junk that ended in the garbage. And the first thing that came up was the Conair 213X Infiniti Professional Tourmaline Ceramic Technology Ionic Styler. Well, I was skeptical. It did, after all, cost only $33.99. How could this hairdryer possibly stand up to my beloved T3 that I was lusting after?! I read the reviews… and sure enough lots of people raved about the thing… said that it was better than the T3.
I took a deep breath and I ordered it. I did it for the sake of women everywhere who don’t want to suffer the injustices of unneeded golf club purchases and for those who don’t believe in $200 hairstyling products.
Because I’m an Amazon Prime member I didn’t have to wait very long for my purchase to arrive at my doorstep.
Ladies… gentlemen… can I just say that I am in LOVE with this hairdryer. Did you know that with this hairdryer I can actually blow-dry my hair without a round brush??? Yes… that is right, folks, I said without a round brush. My hair is smooth and silky and looks like my head just jumped out of the pages of the most swanky hair magazine on the face of the planet. I could be in a Pantene commercial for the first time in my life! It looks like I stepped out of the salon every single day. Seriously people… go buy one right now, I’ll wait….
There are some things to consider about this hairdryer. I wouldn’t call them “cons” or “downsides” they’re just things you ought to know.
- It’s heavy. Heavier than your typical run of the mill $30 hairdryer. But this could be a good thing because you can tone those arms while you’re waving the thing around
- The “cool shot” button is in kind of a strange place. The reviews on Amazon said that too, but I didn’t really believe them until I actually used it. From the pictures it looks like the button is in the same place as a lot of the other hairdryer models out there, but seriously… you’re going to accidentally it it unless you choke down on the handle. This doesn’t bother me that much because I think it’s easier to use if you choke down a bit on your grip
- The heat and force sliders are touchy. If you end up sliding your hand up and down the grip a lot, you might accidentally shut it off or change the heat of the air.
- Finally… there’s a button on the back that I can only assume turns off whatever magic the Tourmaline does. Don’t push it. It really will turn your magic “Supermodel Hairdryer” into just a regular old heavy, $30 hairdryer
OK…. So there you have it. $33.99 and Supermodel hair for life. Go buy one. I’ve made it easy for you with the link below!
I have in any way been compensated for the review of this product by either the manufacturer or by Amazon.com

Hair dryers scare me, mostly because I think if I ever used one I lose what little hair I have left.
Nice! If I didn’t have short hair I would definitely give it a shot! But because my hair is so short, my $15 purchase from Target does the trick. When it dies, though, I’ll pick up this product for sure!
In your fine print, did you mean to say you did “not” get compensated?
